Mandarin Speech & Drama

JOHN WONG has a wealth of experience in acting and teaching. Since 1986, he has been involved in numerous stage productions in Singapore and overseas. In February 1993, John represented Singapore in the Third ASEAN Theatre Festival jointly organised by the Thailand National Committee on Culture and Information in Bangkok, Thailand.

He has taught Mandarin Speech and Drama in primary schools like Raffles Girls Primary School and Chong Fu Primary, and community centres like Pasir Ris South C C.

To date, John has obtained an Advanced Certificate in Speech and Literature with the School of Oriental Culture, an Acting and Speech Certificate with the Singapore Hokkien Clan Cultural Troupe and Southern Arts Society.

SUN YI is a native Chinese who graduated from Shen Yang Music Institute with a degree in professional teaching. She also holds a diploma from Shenyang Conservatory of Music.

Collectively, Sun Yi has 10 years of teaching Speech & Drama. In China, she was engaged to teach professionally at Dalian Middle School and has been teaching Mandarin Speech & Drama as well as music to children and adults alike. In Singapore, Sun Yi has been with a childcare centre as a Mandarin teacher for over a year.

Her teaching experience coupled with her natural love for children especially from a mother’s point of view, has made her excel in her position as both a music and Speech & Drama teacher.

CHEN DANPING is a native Chinese who graduated from Hwa Nan Women’s College with a diploma in accounting. She also holds an accounting degree from Thames, Singapore.

Danping has been a Mandarin Speech and Drama teacher for over 5 years and is currently conducting classes in Singapore for other centres. Danping is a positive and bubbly teacher who has the ability to inspire children to be more vocal and expressive.

LIU HUI is a native Chinese with a Bachelor’s degree in Music & Dance from Zhong Yang Min Zu University. She is an experienced speech & drama teacher who has been teaching pre-schoolers in Singapore for the past 4 years. She has extensive knowledge in speech & drama and conducts enrichment classes for her young charges. Children will benefit from her rich experience in speech & drama.

WANG CHUN YAN is a native Chinese with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Shenyang Polytechnic University. She is an experienced teacher who has been teaching pre-schoolers for more than 4 years. She has knowledge in speech & drama and conducts lively classes for her young charges. She enjoys good relations with both her parents and students. With her rich experience in childcare and strong interest in speech & drama, she has shown great aptitude in teaching speech & drama to young children.

LIU CHUN JING is a native Mandarin speaker from China. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and then proceeded to attain an Honours degree in Modern Chinese at Qingdao University in 1996.

After her studies, she joined the International Communication School of Qingdao University as a tutor, teaching Primary Chinese. She was promoted to assistant professor a year later, tutoring Higher Chinese and Modern Chinese Literature to undergraduates till April 2001. Her other work experiences include part-time teaching in Chinese to primary school children from the Korean and Japanese Learning Centres.

LIN HONG is a native Mandarin speaker. She holds a Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care and Development and a Diploma in Chinese Education.

Since 2005, she has worked in numerous childcare centres around Singapore teaching both language and speech and drama.

Her years of experience and knowledge are evident in her classes. But most of all it is her love for children that makes her a valuable addition to the Learning Horizon team.

CHEN BING holds a Certificate in Pre-school Teaching from Learning Capital School of Early Childhood Education. She has worked in various Language Centres and Preschools around Singapore.

She enjoys working with children and is very animated and creative in her teaching style.

ZHANG JIE is a native Chinese speaker holding a Bachelors degree in Music Arts from Guangzhou Xinhai Conservatory of Music. She is an experienced teacher, who has been teaching pre-school Mandarin and Mandarin Speech & Drama for more than 9 years. Some of the schools where she has taught include in My Little Cottage Childcare, Julia Gabriel Kindergarten and Athens School in Singapore.

Besides Mandarin, Zhang Jie is comfortable in communicating with the children in English fluently. Her bilingual background allows her understand children better and conduct lessons more effectively. She is also good at bringing out children's language talents.

Her teaching experience coupled with her natural love for children especially from a mother's point of view, has made her excel in her position as a speech & drama teacher. Children will enjoy and benefit from her class.

LIE JIE is a Diploma holder from China in Primary Education from The Jiang Su Radio and TV University, the equivalent of the NIE teachers’ training course to teach in primary schools.

She is an experienced teacher and has been teaching pre-school Mandarin and Mandarin Speech & Drama. She has also taught Han Yu Pin Yin and other lower-primary level Chinese Enrichment programs.

With her teaching experience, coupled with her natural love for teaching children, she is a natural fit in our team. Children will enjoy and benefit from her class.
